Sensible Shoes

"If you wear white tennis shoes in Europe, they locals l know you are an American tourist."

I heard that from someone before my first trip across the pond when I was a 12 -year-old. As if fanny packs and cameras didn't give it away either. You can be sure though that my comfortable tourist walking shoes have definitely never been white.

My husband and I are headed to Europe this summer (his first time!) so we'll undoubtedly being doing tons of walking to see all of the sites. I have no desire pull a Gloria at Disneyland from this week's episode of Modern Family. I'll cry like a baby if my shoes aren't comfortable, but I still want them to be somewhat cute.

Here's a few neutral options that will go with everything. Let me know which pair is your favorite.

I love the sparkly ones! And I don't have a pair yet but everyone raves about Tom's.

You'll have to let me know your reviews on the shoes as I need a new sensible pair for teaching. So excited for this trip of yours- keep us updated on the planning!

Ahhh, it's hard to choose! They are all super cute. The Bensimon shoe is a classic - and I hear it's uuuber comfy - so maybe that's a safe choice? Let us know what you decide! :)

Denise - I actually already have a pair of sparkly TOMS! I didn't even think about those so thanks for reminding me. Hannah - I was hoping that the cheapies from Target would work out but they weren't the same color as I thought they'd be when I saw them at the store today. I do like the black ones though! Alexandra - I'm leaning towards the Bensimon. You are right, they are such a classic Euro girl tennis shoe.

Those gold sperrys have been on my to-buy list for a couple of seasons now. Cute and classic!
