There's something to be said about that special feeling you get whenever you do a completely selfless good deed for someone else. Although the purpose of random acts of kindness is for the betterment of others, I truly believe that good deeds can be the most rewarding to the giver. How energized do you feel after you've done something nice for a friend, family member, neighbor, student, co-worker, or even stranger? I think that I do a fairly good job of doing nice things for others on a regular basis, but of course, there's certainly room for some new creative, good deeds to incorporate into my routine. Thanks to a birthday gift from my friend
Kelli, I'll be able to hold myself accountable with this
One Good Deed a Day Journal. The ideas are easy, like giving up your seat to a stranger or mailing a photograph of yourself to your grandparents. I plan on documenting my good deeds throughout the year in my
journal (there are 365 good deeds) so I hope to get through the list by this time next year.
:) love it! may have to get one for myself
ReplyDeleteI went straight to Barnes and Noble and purchased One Good Deed a day and am getting start. What a nice way to reclaim the good in ourselves and pass it on to others each day. It's amazing how the level the small good deeds we do can go a long way to making this world a better place.
ReplyDeleteA gret companion book is Simple Act Of Gratitude by John Kralik.
