How often do you have a day when nothing seems to go your way? Fortunately, I don't have them often but I recently had a day where everything seemed to go wrong. Mid-day I realized that one of my diamond earrings was not in my ear, I dropped my phone and shattered the screen (kicking myself for not having it in a case... dumb.), and then I traveled to Fort Worth and witnessed my Jayhawks' epic loss to TCU. Bad things come in threes, right?
By the time I went to bed, I thought there was no way that my day could possibly get any worse.
How silly of me!
While hashing out the day with my husband before falling asleep, it really hit me that the things that made my day so bad were simply just things. I can replace a diamond, get my iPhone screen repaired, and let's be honest, it may not be the worst thing if my seemingly untouchable team loses a few games every now and then. There are so many things in life that can not be replaced and to waste energy on things that can be is just crazy. It's OK.
By the next day, I felt silly I had ranted so much about my bad day. Sure, it was bad (and expensive), but there are so many other things that could have made my day much worse. I just needed a some perspective, positive thinking, and a game of Tetris to get me through a few minor annoyances. Yep, Tetris. Read Rewiring Your Brain for Positivity and Happiness Using the Tetris Effect to find out why.
