Big Tex's New Boots, Football, Fried Millionaire Pie, and King Ranch Casserole at State Fair of Texas

Today marks the last day of the State Fair of Texas, so if you're a Dallasite by this point you've already been, are currently there now, or don't have any plans on going. Big Tex is back and has some killer new boots.

I volunteered for the Heart of Dallas (check out the great things they do for the community) at the fair a few weeks ago.

After a long, rainy day of snapping pics at a football game at the Cotton Bowl, I definitely deserved my reward and treated myself to Fried Millionaire Pie.

Apparently Millionaire Pie is an old Texas thing (like the King Ranch Casserole). I had heard of it before but I had no idea what was in it until trying it at the fair. It's basically a no-bake pie with coconut, whipped cream, cream cheese, pineapple, and pecans. Of course, my first time with this pie happened to be fried.

Have you had fried Millionaire Pie before or King Ranch Casserole? I'd love to try an unfried version of it. If you know of a place I should try, please share!

I've never been a millionaire but I just know I'd be darling at it.
