It was most certainly the turquoise and pink exterior with gray and white stripe awning that first intrigued me (and then eventually enticed me) into the Elizabeth Street Café in Austin. I'd heard mixed reviews, but a spring roll sounded like a good afternoon snack on a muggy Austin fall day, so why not give this darling little place a shot? Elizabeth Street Café features a hybrid of French and Vietnamese food, with a side of Austin flair. Not only was it cute little establishment, but my spring rolls and pastries were good too. The highlight of my meal was without a doubt the Rosé Monsoon cocktail — Rosé, Lillet Rosé, sparkling Rosé, Lychee black tea, pear and lime juice, and thai basil.
